Died After Accident
A man who was run over by a car in Ferry road near the Smith street intersection last Wednesday died in Christchurch Hospital yesterday morning. He was Reginald McKenzie, aged 53, of 52 Bordesley street, Christchurch. The accident occurred about 12.50 a.m. on May 11. The Christchurch Central police motor-accident branch wants to see the driver of a petrol tanker which left the Chapman’s road depot and travelled along Ferry road through the Smith street intersection about the time of the accident
Oven Fires.—An oven fire at 43 Lonsdale street, New Brighton, about 8.3 a.m. yesterday was attended by one machine from New Brighton. The occupier of the property is Mr Donald Mclntosh. One machine from St. Albans attended an oven fire at 91 Abberley crescent about 2.8 p.m. yesterday. The occupier is Mr Bruce Eade.
