FRANCHISE EXTENDED
R. and G. Move In Australia (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, May 17. Ross and Glendining, the New Zealand textiler whose directors yesterday recommended acceptance of the revised higher take-over offer from United Empire Box Company, has extended its franchise arrangements with Anthony Squires Holdings, the Australian Financial Review reported. In addition to the New Zealand franchise for the manufacture and merchandising of Anthony Squires and Parini men’s wear ranges and Sax Altman slacks, Ross and Glendining’s subsidiary, the International Style Company, will now handle production and sale of the Daroff suit range throughout New Zealand. The joint managing director of Anthony Squires (Mr S. Sinclair), said yesterday that the new agreement would result in increased royalties and further tax concessions. Kanieri Gold
(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, May 17. Excavating 170,000 yards of spoil in 242 hours in the halfmonth to May 14, the Kanieri gold dredge at Kumara returned 467 ounces of bullion.
