FIGHT FOR SCANLAN
Dunedin Offer Rejected (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. An offer for a return New Zealand middle-weight boxing title fight between the champion F. Manuao and former champion T. Scanlan in Dunedin has been rejected by Scanlan’s manager, Mr L. Tansey. He said that the grounds for his rejection of Dunedin’s offer were “mainly financial.” He would not say what Dunedin’s offer was nor what purse he would require for Scanlan to accept the fight. Mr Tansey is considering an offer from Wellington for Scanlan to fight the • Australian junior-middle-weight champion T. Barber in Wellington on June 8.
