RETIREMENT OF BISHOP
Diocese To Say Goodbye
A diocesan farewell to the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) and Mrs Warren is to be held on June 23 in the Winter Garden.
The diocesan registrar (Mr J. C. Cottrell) said that full details of the programme had not been completed, but speakers would include the Mayor (Mr G. Manning); the Ven. H. M. Cocks, on behalf of the clergy of the diocese; Mr E. C. Champion, on behalf of the laity; and Mrs S. E. Woods, on behalf of the women of the diocese. A number of items would be included, and the evening would end with supper. Tickets were being made available in all parishes In the diocese, and invitations were being sent to the many bodies and organisations with which Bishop Warren and Mrs Warren had been associated.
