Entries Near Record In Rangiora Poultry Show

The North Canterbury Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Club had one of its best entries for its annual show at tae Southbrook Hall, Rangiora. on Friday and Saturday. About 650 birds were presented for the judges, with a strong number of entries coming from Nelson and others from as far south as Milton. The entry was about 80 birds short of the record set tn 1962.

The light breeds classes attracted a good number of entries, said the judge of this section, Mr J. H. Tayior. For. so early in the year the standard was satisfactory. Two outstanding birds in the light breed classes were a white leghorn cockeril entered by W. H. Warren and a pullet entered by E. W. Tippens, said Mr Taylor. A pleasing feature was tne increasing number of Minorcas seen at the show.
