COMPLAINT OF SMELL
Workers Leave Building Site (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 16 A group of building workers walked off a factory site near the Auckland City Council’s compost works close to Mount Wellington today, complaining of the smell. One said the smell was “awful” and the men had felt ill by mid-morning. Workmen said the smell was worse today than usual. Showers dampened the smell about lunch time and a spokesman for the workers said they would return to the site tomorrow, providing the smell was limited. Earlier complaints about the smell from the works have been received by the Mount Wellington Borough Council which is having these investigated.
