City Man Leader
Mr Taiboys said Mr C. M. Clark, of Christchurch, would lead New Zealand’s 32-man party. Mr Clark has been officer in charge at Raoul Island meteorological station and officer in charge at Campbell Island scientific station. He won a university junior scholarship in 1949 and studied at Canterbury University, and after working in the contracting business was appointed officer in charge of Raoul Island in 1959. In 1960 he was appointed to the Cook
Island Public Works Department, as instructor in earthmoving machinery. Mr Clark was appointed officer in charge of Campbell Island in 1961 and returned to New Zealand a year later to resume his former post at Raoul Island until late 1963. He was then reappointed to his former Campbell island position until late in 1965 and three months later he was associated with Dr. R. A. Falla’s Auckland Island party which returned in March.
