GEMINI FLIGHT
Astronauts Ready (N.Z P.A.-Rcuter —Copyright > HOUSTON (Texas), May 16. The headquarters of America's space programme in Houston reported today that all was going smoothly for tomorrow’s Gemini IX mission, during which one of the astronauts will “walk round the world” outside the capsule. The 71-hour flight will be the most sophisticated ever attempted by the United States. Today the astronauts. Commander Thomas Stafford and Lieutenant Eugene Ceman will have a final run-through of the major events scheduled for the mission. They will be blasted into orbit by a Titan II rocket at 4.39 a.m. N.Z. time, Wednesday.
