ÜBER CUP BADMINTON
Japan beat Indonesia 5-2 in the inter-zone semi-final of the Über Cup women’s badminton at Napier on Saturday night, the Press Association reports. The strong Japanese team took the lead from the opening singles match between the two team captains, Miss M. Takagi (Japan) and Miss Mlnarni (Indonesia) which Miss Takagi won 11-3, 11-0. England beat Canada by six matches to one in the semi-final In Dunedin. In the top singles game Miss A. Bairstow, of England, beat Mrs J. Follnsbee 11-3, l)-3.
