CHAMPION GREYHOUND

Winnings To Go To Society

(N.Z. Press Association)

AUCKLAND. April 22.

The North Shore branch of the Intellectually Handicapped Children Society has received an unusual offer of help.

The Henderson owners of a thoroughbred racing greyhound, named Dusky of Rathgar, have offered its services to the society this season. Its winnings will go to the society. Owned by Mr G. Blair and Miss S. Hudson, Dusky of Rathgar was described today by the president of the Greyhound Racing Association (Mr J. Blakely), as indisputably one of the best racers in New Zealand.

“A fortnight ago it won the biggest breeders’ race in New Zealand at Inglewood,” said Mr Blakely. At Kumeu on Sunday Dusky of Rathgar will race for the first time in the name of the society. The owners plan to keep and train the dog.
