Cabinetmaker’s Travel Award
Mr H. A. Ricketts, aged 21, an employee of Howard Smith Ltd., Christchurch, will leave for Australia next week-end on the New Zealand Furniture Manufacturers’ Federation’s first travel award for cabinetmakers.
Mr Ricketts, the sole winner of the award, will spend 10 days in Sydney with about 30 Auckland members of the federation. They will visit the Sydney Furniture Guild Exhibition and several furniture shops and factories. Mr Ricketts gained his advanced trade certificate last year after study at the Christchurch Technical Institute.
