SNOWDEN DECIDES
Not Joining “Rebels”
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The New Zealand Rugby League captain, W. L. Snowden, has decided not to play professional league in the rebel Murrumbidgee competition this season. He has notified the officials of the Junee club of his decision after being made a substantial offer to join as a player-coach this season.
Snowden said his main reason for declining the offer was his heavy business commitments.
A second reason was his fear of being left “high and dry” if the Murrumbidgee League folded up next season.
“If the League did fold up the Australians could be reinstated with the Australian League, but it does not necessarily follow that I would be reinstated by the New Zealand League. “This could then mean the end of my playing career.”
