Expected To Win Fours

(N.Z. Press Assn—Copyright) MELBOURNE.

The New Zealand women’s rowing four, which finished two lengths ahead of Victoria to win the Australian women’s four-oared title race in Adelaide last Sunday, should not be extended to win the inter-Dominion fours at a regatta on the Yarra river in Melbourne today. The New Zealanders, in charge of E. Craise, an Auckland coach, have trained twice daily in a borrowed boat on the Yarra this week, and are hot favourites for the event.

Because of a disagreement with the Ladies’ Rowing Association over boats, the Victorian four, from the Nestles club in Warrnambool, may not contest the inter-Domin-ion race. If this happens a iY.W.C.A. club four will ■ oppose the New Zealand team.

The Victorian coach, R. Scutcheon, said yesterday his crew would not row unless it was provided with a regulation racing boat.
