Obituary Rev. E. S. Harkness

AUCKLAND, April 22.
A Methodist minister who served in Tonga and many places in New Zealand, the Rev. Edwin Scaife Harkness, has died in Mt Eden, aged 88. He was born in Bendigo, Victoria. He went to Tonga as a missionary in 1910. He served the Free Church in Tonga and took part in the Coronation of the late Queen Salote. He joined the New Zealand ministry in 1921, and was in Taranaki, Dunedin, Wellington, Wairarapa and Onehunga.
