N.Z.’s Only Maori Captain
Captain T. W. K. Whaitiri, master of the Anchor Company’s Totara which has been in the drydock at Lyttelton, is the only Maori master in the New Zealand Merchant Service. Another, Captain A. Moko Moko, of the Holm Shipping Company, died recently, visit Lyttelton infrequently. Anchor Company vessels The Totara is expected to sail for the West Coast today.
