Experimental Fishing Permits
Special permits will be made available by the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society to holders of fullseason fishing licences to allow them to fish in that part of the Ashley river extending from Kings avenue near the lagoon to No. 10 groyne near Fernside. The permits will be available from May 1 to 31, and will be issued only on the condition that a record of all fish caught is returned to the society. The current regulations will still apply, and artificial fly or minnow only may be used as ures or bait. The special permits are available at the society’s office at 61 Bealey avenue, or may be obtained by sending a licence to Box 989, Christchurch.
