LILA. ATTACKS BARRACKS
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) DUBLIN, April 21. Suspected Irish Republican extremists last night hurled a “Molotov Cocktail” into an army barracks, seriously injuring one soldier.
Extremists earlier cut rail traffic on the main DublinBelfast line by pulling sixfoot blocks of concrete across the tracks near Killester. in County Dublin. Placards reading “release the Republican prisoners and this will stop" were strewn around the barricade. Members of the banned Irish Republican Army have warned the terrorist tactics would be intensified until eight I.R.A. sympathisers were freed from gaol.
The Incident at tbe Cathalbrugh army barracks was the latest in a rash of incidents that have plagued the Republic and neighbouring Northern Ireland, since the beginning of jubilee celebrations commemorating the 1916 Easter rebellion.
