D. N. Hadfield, the rider of An-asiiwa in the Courtenay Handicap, was charged wth causing imiterference to Scorn (J. A. sent). It was found tihat interference did occur, but was insufficient to warrant any penalty. After the running of the George Adams Handicap, Gapless was seen to be bleeding slightly from one nostril. After a veterinary examination the connexions of the horse were told to gallop Capless hard on Thurs. day before a stipendiary steward. After the galilop a decision will be made whether Cap less is declared a bleeder.

Shortly after the start of the Great Easter Handicap Middy (J. A. Messent) moved out and checked Captain’s Command (B. J. Anderton). It was found that Mesisent’s hand had become entangled in the horse’s mane and the reins when he tried to restrain the- horse and Middy moved out from the fence.

Because of the unusiuad circumstances no action was taken.

A. J. Stokes, the rider of Time and Tide in the Pa panini Handicap, was questioned on the performance of hiis mount, which lost considerable ground at the start. Stokes said the horse got caught in the stall at the start.

Then when Time and Tide did leave the gates, the horse inside him, Matrah, jumped sideways, causing Time and Tide to lose more ground.

Stokes said he tried the horse with the whip near the three furlongs, but he dlid not respond.
