Two Riders Suspended
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Two riders, D. A. Rakilander and P. R. Wi'lson, were suspended up to and including next Saturday at Ellerslie last Saturday. Raklander, the rider of Sharab in the Papakura Handicap, was found to have caused interference to High Glee (G. L. Willetts) with resultant interference to Double Image (G. F. Hughes) shortly after straightening in the run home. Sharab was first past the post. After the inquiry Double Image, which was second, was placed first. Sharab was relegated to second. P. R. Willson, the rider of Robert Eart, the winner of the Brighton Hurdles, was suspended for causing Interference to Prettypeen (R. J. Leggett) about half a furlong from the finish. Used Whip On Jockey (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) BRISBANE. A jockey, C. Pearson, aged 32, was disqualified for six months at Eagle Farm on Saturday for hitting another jockey with his whip in a race finish. Pearson was accused by A. Lister, a leading Queensland jockey, who showed stewards weals on his left arm and both legs which he claimed were made by Pearson’s whip.
