U.N. Running Costs (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW YORK, April 8. The cost of running the United Nations has risen more than two and a half times in the last 12 years, says the Secretary-General, U Thant. An official report shows that appropriations for the 1966 regular budget totalled 121,567,420 dollars, compared with expenditures of 46,860,000 dollars in 1954. The report was prepared for a 14-nation committee set up to examine the state of United Nations finances.
