LOWER AIR FARES

Trans-Pacific Cuts Forecast (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) HONOLULU, April 10. A Canadian Pacific Airlines executive has predicted that his company will cut fares to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji by up to 40 per cent this June, United Press International reports. Hugh B. Main. C.P.A., assistant vice-president, said he hoped C.P.A. could do it along with other carriers. “If not, Canadian will go it alone,” he said. Mr Main said his line feels that the cost of travel between America and Australia and New Zealand is exorbitant and is holding back the development of travel in both directions.
