(N.Z. Press Association) j ROTORUA April 6. [ An appeal to the owners of trailer boats to help prevent) [the spread of lakeweed was ‘made in Rotorua today. The conservator of wildlife (Mr P. J. Burstall) and the convener of the Rotorua inter - departmental committee on lakeweed (Mr T. D. Mackenzie) said it was clear that trailer boats were spreading the week from lake to lake. , Mr Burstall said a weed i covering thousands of acres in the lower reaches of the | Waikato river had recently been found in Lake Maraetai about 40 miles above HamilI toa. The weed had been found growing right alongside the. boat ramp.
