the day was by G. Gowland (Victoria), who took six wickets for 18 runs against Lin-
coln College. M. Webb (Otago) also performed well, with six for 26 against Massey. Scores:— Massey 91 (K. Tester 34: M. Webb 6.*26, A. Matatamua 4/26) and 73 2 CM. O’Dwyer 4S not out). Otago 94/4 declared (L. Green 51 not out). Victoria 135 fR. Edmond 31) and 49'1, Lincoln 115 (B. McGregor 38: G. Gowland 6/18). Auckland 109 (S. Jolly 33: R. West 4/24), Canterbury 112/9 M. Pocock 6-36).
