Two-Year-olds Gallop Well At Takanini
“The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND.
Two-year-olds drew the most interest at Takanini yesterday morning and none galloped better than FeWx Dee and Foxvale. Each went five furlongs in fast time. Felix Dee the quicker by a fraction.
Kandy and Devastation, two of the leading Easter Handicap horses, travelled six furlongs together. Feldx Dee is in the Great Northern Champagne-Stakes on
the first day and Foxvale is an acceptor for the Onslow Stakes, a lesser event for two-year-olds. Work took place on the inside of the No. 1 grass which provided good footing.
Felix Dee (R. J. Skelton) started quickly and ended five furlongs in 60 4-ssec. Foxvale (Skelton), after a slower start, returned Imin Isec Felix Dee was timed to run his last halfmile in 48 4-ssec and Foxvale returned 48 3-ssec.
Kandy (Peake) led Devastation (Raklander) by a neck after running sex furlongs comfortably in Imin 17sec. Farmer's Boy (G. Hughes) held a slight lead on Te Pari Chat (Heas’.ip) finishing five furlongs in 60 4-ssec. Farmer s Boy continues to gallop encouragingly. Given good footing he will very likely show improved form in the Hui a Handicap. i i | i , i I
