ACCIDENT IN PLANE
I (N.Z. Press Association > HAMILTON, April 5. After an accident at Mercer in a light topdressing plane, today the pilot climbed from the wreckage and took off in a second plane to continue his work. The plane, almost completely wrecked, fell backwards over a 120 ft bank. The pilot, Bruce Chegwidden, of Pukekohe, who was uninjured, was taxi-ing along the runway of the property of Mr R. Douglas, west of the Waikato river at Mercer. When he turned the plane to reload with manure about 6.30 a.m., it slipped on the grass and fell down the bank.
