Flight To See Injured Son
(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, April 5. The parents of a soldier seriously injured in Malaysia left Whangarei today to fly to Singapore to see him. Mr and Mrs V. R. Vaile, of Waiotira, will leave Whenuapai on Thursday morning in an R.N.Z.A.F. Hercules, and will arrive at Singapore on Friday after an overnight stop at Port Moresby. Their son. Private D. R. Vaile, a driver in the Ist Battalion, was run over by an Army vehicle during manoeuvres on the east coast of Malaysia on March 29. He suffered a fractured skull and chest injuries. He is in the R.A.F. Hospital in Singapore.
