AIR INDIA STRIKERS
Navigators Dismissed (N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW DELHI, April 5. Dismissal notices are going out today to striking Air India navigators. The 18-day-old pay strike by 41 navigators has grounded the State-owned airline’s fleet of Boeing 707's and halted international services. A decision to dismiss the strikers was taken yesterday after the navigators ignored an ultimatum to return to work. The Transport Minister, Mr N. Sanjiva Reddy, told Parliament the airline would shut down completely next Friday unless pilots agreed to fly with third pilots acting as navigators. Al! flights have been cancelled while the pilots decide.
