Boat Show

Another boat show is to be held at Canterbury Court next September and in order to alleviate the labour problem, one of the organisers, the Canterbury “R” Class Squadron, circularised the Christchurch clubs calling for tenders to help run and organise the show. The successful club will receive a share of the profits allocated to the Squadron in exchange for the labour force supplied.

Six clubs tendered for the draw which was made recently and the final order was: Pleasant Point, Banks Peninsula, Charteris Bay, Waimakariri, Canterbury and Christchurch. Apart from the R class Squadron Hie other two key organisers are the New Brighton Power Boat Club and the Canterbury Water Sporty Association.

Final Events Final events on this season’s yachting programme will be held next week-end. These are the annual Easter Regattas. Two local ones will be held, one at the Waimakiriri and the other at Timaru. The programme for the Waimakariri club is: Friday, Open handicap 3.30 p.m.; Saturday, Class handicap 3.30 p.m.; Sunday, Echo Trophy 9.30 a.m.; Monday, Class championships 9.30 a.m.
