Canterbury Marksmen On Target
/CANTERBURY’S marksv men won three out of the five titles to give the province pride of place at the 1966 New Zealand trapshooting championships at the Christchurch Gun Club’s grounds at Yaldhurst last week. H. C. Walker (Hakataramea) won the skeet championship, was runner-up in both the two-man and fiveman skeet teams’ events and finished eighth in the single rise championship, while his
son, A. Walker, was a member of both the two and fiveman skeet teams. F. Lewis (Timaru) won the single barrel championship with F. E. Kelly (Rangiora) runner-up, L. J. Wills (Fairlie) took the double rise title, while T. Everett (Christchurch), C. W. Scott (Kimberley) and A. T. Kemp (Palmerston) ail finished in the first 13. L. W. Kerr (Rangiora) was the fourth equal highest scorer
fa the Mackintosh international teams’ event and was placed fourth in the single barrel championship. In the single rise championship W. R. Ford (Southbridge) was placed fourth, I. D. James (Timaru) fifth, and W. T. Morton (Christchurch) sixth. In the clay sparrow championship I. Streeter (Amberley), D. H. Nicholas (Christchurch) and A. S. Copland (St. Andrews) all finished in the first 12.
