i <N.Z. Press Assn -—Copynght» MELBOURNE, April 4. Victorian Health Department analysts are still trying to solve the problem of Melbourne’s faulty batch of beer. Last week some Melbourne publicans returned barrels of beer as undrinkable to the Carlton and United Breweries, I Ltd. ' They maintained the beer I tasted “like mothballs” and “weak iodine." I However, although the ! Health Department cannot pin down the cause of the taste of the faulty beer it did prove that there was nothing dangcr--1 OUS about it. Show Writer.—Russell Crouse, who wrote many hit Broadway shows, including “Life With Father,” and collaborated with Irving Berlin in “The Sound of Music” and “Call Me Madam,” died in New York yesterday, aged 73. —New York.
