NEW DIESEL SHUNTERS
Japanese Firm Wins Contract (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 4. The Government has awarded a contract for the supply of 17 diesel shunting locomotives to the Japanese company Mitsubishi Shoji Kaisha, Ltd. Fifteen of the locomotives would be for New Zealand Railways and two for the Ohai Railway Board in Southland. Twenty-two tenders were received from manufacturers in six countries for the contract.
