(N.Z.P.A. Reuter—Copyright) KUALA LUMPUR, April 4. The New Zealand defence minister (Mr Eyre) has told the Malaysian Government New Zealand will continue its defence aid programme for a further year until March 31, 1967.

This was announced by the New Zealand High Commission today. New Zealand has already contributed about £750,000 over the last two years. Defence Equipment The funds would also provide for gifts of defence equipment which would be made as the opportunity arose. This would include further equipment for the Royal Malaysian Navy. Mr Eyre expected other possibilities would also arise, the statement said.

It said Mr Eyre had assured the Malaysian Government of New Zealand’s continued B

active sympathy and support for Malaysia. Mr Eyre, accompanied by Lieutenant-General L. W. Thornton, Chief of Defence Staff, is due in Singapore tonight after visiting Camp Terendak, Malacca.
