Young Women Appointed
The New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation has appointed Miss J. Anderson, of Christchurch, and Miss P. A. O’Reilly, of Timaru, to its Southern Regional Pr o - gramme Advisory Committee. The chairman of the committee (Mr W. R. Lascelles) said yesterday that, at the committee’s recommendation, the appointments were made with special concern for representation of the younger generation. Miss Anderson, who is 19, went to St. Margaret's College and is now in her second year of study at the Canterbury University School of Fine Arts. She appeared regularly in the television programme “Youth Wants to Know," which was produced in Christchurch. Her interests include fashion designing, acting, writing, painting, and meeting people. Miss O’Reilly, who is 18, was educated at the Sacred Heart College, Timaru. From August, 1964. until August, 1965, she attended a high school in Illinois on an American Field Service scholarship. This year, she is studying law at Canterbury University. Her interests include music, drama, public speaking and debating.
