FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation. —A cold front is moving eastwards over the North Island. An anti-cyclone is spreading on to the South Island from the west. Forecast. Canterbury and Marlborough.—Moderate south-west winds predominating, rain at first in many areas; clearing later except for a few scattered showers about exposed parts of the coast; cool temperatures. Outlook; Partly cloudy with showers later. Nelson. —Moderate variable winds tending south-west; scattered light rain this morning but clearing except for isolated showers about the ranges; elsewhere fine with moderate temperatures. Outlook: Isolated showers. Buller and Westland.—Moderate variable winds, south-westerlies predominating; scattered rain at first but clearing later; temperatures moderate. Outlook: Rain.
