Beer Before Work
CV.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 30. A 39-year-old bus-driver told the police it was normal for him to drink 20 beers before starting work, the prosecution alleged in the i Magistrate’s Court at Wellington today. Thomas Alexander Gordon ! pleaded guilty to a charge of i driving a bus while under the influence of liquor. He was sentenced by Mr J. A. Wicks, S.M., to one month’s gad and disqualified from driving for five years. Sergeant A. H. Colegrave said that on the evening of March 29, after complaints from a passenger, Gordon was stopped by the police while driving a Wellington City Corporation bus. He was taken to the police station where a doctor certified him as incapable of driving.
