Resolution Of Protest
(N.Z. Pres« Asiociationf AUCKLAND. March 30. More than 200 importer decided in Auckland today to send the Minister of Customs (Mr Shelton) a resolution expressing their concern over the import cuts. The resolution passed at the annual meeting of the Bureau of Importers, asks Mr Shelton to bring their concern to the notice of Government. It also says that import licensing is not the most suitable method of controlling the balance of payments and recommends the introduction of tariff protection. The bureau asks for talks with Government on an alternative means of import licensing.
