OBITUARY
MRS E. GROOBY (N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, March 29. Mrs Emma Grooby died in Dua-rt Home, Havelock North, on Sunday, 10 days before her one hundredth birthday. Mrs Grooby, who had been at Duart Home for the last three years, had been ill for some days. She was the daughter of a Mr Remnant, who farmed and ran the post office-store in Motueka in the last century. She and her husband, Mr John Grooby, came to Hastings to live in retirement in 1919. Mr Grooby died in 1933, aged 83.
