WORLD CUP DOG FILM “STAR”
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) LONDON. The comedian, Tommy Trinder, said last evening that he would not pay the £lOOO reward he had offered for the return of the World Soccer Cup, the “Daily Sketch” reported. The cup, which was removed from a glass showcase in Central Hall, Westminster, two weeks ago, was found on Sunday by Mr. David Corbett "and his mongrel dog, Pickles. They found it wrapped in newspaper in the front
garden of their home in Norwood, a South London suburb. Mr Trinder, who is also chairman of Fulham F.C., said he would not pay the reward because the cup had not been returned to him personally. Other rewards were promised by the loss adjusters and the National Sporting Club. Spokesmen for both > said that they were ready to discuss the rewards with Mr Corbett. But Pickles has already had his rewards. He has been
signed to appear in a film with Lawrence Harvey and Daliah Lavi, which will bring him £125 in fees. The film, a comedy, is called “The Spy With a Cold Nose.” And the National Canine Defence League is to present to Pickles a silver medal bearing the inscription “To Pickles for his part in the recovery of the World Cup.”
