MEG’S LAST RIDE
(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, Mar. 27.
The 91-year-old small “F” class locomotive Meg Merrilies yesterday made what was probably its last run on the New Zealand railways. On Thursday, Meg’s boiler certificate will expire and the Auckland Railway Enthusiasts’ Society does not think it worth spending any more money on it to keep it going. Meg will probably go to the Auckland Museum of Transport and Technology.
