Fish Study At Taupo

ROTORUA, March 27
The Freshwater Fisheries Advisory Council yesterday inspected waters in the Lake Taupo area from Waitahanui to Waihi Maori village, including the Tongariro hatchery and gravel removal and river control in the lower Tongariro river.
The purpose of the council's tour of inspection and meeting was to consider matters affecting fisheries nationally as advisors to the Minister of Marine (Mr Scott). The Internal Affairs Department, D.S.I.R. and North and South Island Councils of Acclimatisation Societies, as well as the Marine Depart ment, were represented.
