INDUSTRIAL SEWER
First Section Contract
The first section of the Woolston industrial sewer was among three contracts let by the Christchurch Drainage Board recently. The successful tenderer was D. J. O’Donovan and Sons, Ltd., whose figure of £39,872 was the lowest of four received. The others were Waddell Construction, Ltd., £41,132; Canterbury Pipe Lines, Ltd., £46,469; George Chaffev, Ltd., £51.349.
The O’Donovan company was also the lowest tenderer for the other two contracts, but in each case the second lowest tender was accepted by the board. For the Clifton area sewer reticulation project's first section, the board accepted the £14,028 tender of J. Butcher. Six tenders ranged fom £8950 to £17,133. For Kruses drain duplication, E. O’Sullivan’s tender of £11,575 was accepted from eight ranging from £11,209 to £23,595.
