New Hamilton Airport Open
(N.Z. Press Association)
HAMILTON, March 27.
Hamilton and Waikato officially moved into the modern air transport era yesterday when the Minister of Works (Mr Allen) opened the new £500,000 Hamilton Airport at Rukuhia.
Mr Allen said the project was one worthy of Hamilton's past achievements and of the area’s economic potential. “This new airfield, with its modern terminal building and the prospects of a competent Friendship air service plus a heavier freight plane service, will help to eliminate the inconveniences of the past,” he said.
