Baby Thriving After Operation
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 24. Jonathan Dorman, of Titahi Bay, of Wellington, is now a thriving two-month-old infant after surgeons at Wellington Hospital saved his life by opening a hole in his heart when he was one day old. The crucial region of the heart within which the surgeons operated was about the size of a shilling. A thoracic surgeon at the hospital said yesterday that the infant was born suffering from a displacement of the major vessels of the heart. The cause of the condition was not known.
