R.A.F. Chief On Visit
Sir Charles Elworthy, R.A.F., Chief of the British Air Staff, arrived at Ohakea yesterday afternoon in a Comet of the R.A.F. Transport Command. iHe inspected a guard of honour and then left to spend the night at the home of his sister, Mrs R. M. A. Wilson, in Bulls. Sir Charles Elworthy will fly in the Comet to Wellington today, returning later in the week for a private ' visit to his sister. i After arriving in Wellington Sir Charles Elworthy will call upon the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake), the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Kirk) and Air Vice-Marshal 1. G. €
Morrison. He will meet with the Air Board and attend a ministerial luncheon at Parliament Buildings. On Friday, Sir Charles Elworthy will meet the Acting-Secretary of Defence (Mr W. Hutchings), the Chiefs of Staff, and the British defence liaison staff. On Monday he will go to Auckland, where he will be entertained by the Governor - General (Sir Bernard Fergusson).
