Donald Dinnie Likely Opunake Winner Today

Beira and Understudy, in form on the circuit, and Mixed Reception, a hack winner at Trentham last time out, represent the strength of today’s Opunake Cup field, but there are a number of other possibilities, including the visitors, Baleno and Paralovme.

Tolka is reported a doubtful starter and Mairin is reported to have been a little short of work, but even so. Mairin could afford to be a little underdone and still beat most of her opponents. If Donald Dinnie has improved as much as he is reported to have done, he should win the second leg. the St Patrick’s Handicap, but' the stablemates. Blue Veil and Classical Blow, which are not bracketed, both ran sound races at Trentham and Blue Veil followed with a third to Aro and Star of Kildare at Taranaki last start. Star of Kildare, if as expected the track remains firm, is yet another likely to be dose at the finish. Selections:—
