FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation. —An anti-cyclone centred near the Chatham Islands covers New Zealand; a depression south-east of Tasmania is moving south-eastwards. Forecast:

Canterbury.—Moderate north-east winds; extensive fog and low cloud this morning; partly cloudy and mild later. Outlook: partly cloudy. Marlborough and Nelson.—Light to moderate northerly winds; cloudy and warm. Outlook: cloudy, with a few showers. Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate north-easterly winds; cloudy and mild, with some drizzle patches this morning and more general rain tonight in the south. Outlook: showery.
