AUTOMATIC LATHE
Gift To Technical Institute On April 6. a Traub automatic lathe will be presented to the Christchurch Technical Institute by A. M. Satterthwaite and Company, Ltd., in association with Traub Vertriebs G.M.8.H., of Germany. The official presentation will be made before guests including the president of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association (Mr C. W. Mace) and the Director of Technical Education (Dr. B. C. Lee). The Traub automatic lathe is already in use in several Christchurch firms and throughout New Zealand. After being set up by hand, the lathe can be left to produce automatically at high speed all categories of small turned parts such as bolts, nuts, screws and bushes, etc., with minimum supervision.
