DEFENDING TITLES.—The New Zealand sprint champion, A. G. Steel (Canterbury), who will be defending both his 100 and 220 yards titles at the national meeting which begins in Christchurch on Friday. Steel has recently been troubled by an injury to his left leg but is determined not to lose his titles without a fight.
