SPORTS AT HORNBY
Athletics, cash cycling and woodchopping will be featured when the Hornby Amateur Athletic and Cash Cycling Clubs hold their first annual sports meeting at Denton Park on Saturday. March 12. The clubs intend to form a society to organise meetings each year with proceeds to go to sports and community organisations.
The programme will begin with cycling and woodchopping heats in the morning. This is the first occasion that the Hornby Club has organised the New Zealand cash cycling championships at Denton Park. The cycling track at the park is possibly the best in New Zealand. In addition to the sports events a full programme of national dancing will be held.
