Contract For Hotel

AUCKLAND, Feb. 28.
The Fletcher Construction Company, Ltd., has ’been awarded the contract for the Auckland Inter - Continental Hotel, the car park, and related facilities, on the Princes street site. The contract price has not been disclosed. The chairman of the board of the hotel-owning company (Mr F. H. Renouf) said today that the directors were delighted that progress would be under way within a few weeks, and the hotel completed before the middle of 1968.
A spokesman for Auckland Inter-continental Properties, Ltd., said today that the directors were pleased that the contract had been let within the £3.3 million estimate of an overseas firm. There were five New Zealand tenderers.
